| Sumario: | A computer program developed by Loren Siebert, a Marshall scholar at England's Manchester University, can help brokers absorb many different types of data about a stock portfolio. To make sound decisions, a broker must examine a client's shareholdings by type, quantity, value, price, volatility, and a host of other factors. The usual way of displaying all this information—a series of individual graphs that plot changes in share price—makes it hard to identify overall patterns in a portfolio's performance. Siebert, however, puts all of this information on a screen simultaneously by creating the kind of dynamic environment that is often called virtual reality. The program's operation is described.
