| Summary: | A study was conducted to examine e-learning's potential for increasing cross-cultural understanding between social work students. Data were gathered using an experimental design that delivered an e-learning module to selected social work students in Empire State College, New York, and the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa. Findings suggested that participants in the e-learning module were enabled to better relate and respond to the identity issues that informed their own values and their professional practices. Findings emphasized the role of peers in constructing meaning and achieving learning objectives. Findings indicated that such e-learning initiatives could serve as a vehicle for institutional change, as well as facilitating learning and teaching.
