| Sumario: | Introduction: Colorectal Cancer is the fourth more frequent cancer in the world and the second fatal cause in the developed countries where dietary habits in fats are high and fibers consumption is low. Age is a risk factor being higher from the age of 50. Symptomatology: Upon diagnosis, metastasis is present in 15-20% of the cases. The most frequent location is the liver, feasible to produce jaundice (icterus), hepatomegalia and ascitis. PET/CT: Is the images fusion that offer functional information using a radioisotope as 18F-FDG and images that contribute with anatomical information as it is CT. Conclusion: PET together with CT, has allowed distinguishing the activity associated to bowels from activity clearly outside thereof. |
