La incidencia de infertilidad a nivel mundial va en aumento, reportándose cifras que varían de 15 a 20%. En nuestro país, las estadísticas nos demuestran que la incidencia de la misma se ubica alrededor del 15%. En la Clínica de Especialidades de la Mujer no estamos excentos de este aumento, lo que se demuestra al analizar las estadísticas del año 2011, en las cuales se puede documentar que, de las subespecialidades que existen, la de Biología de la Reproducción es la que ocupa el primer lugar en demanda de consulta médica.
