But that same child lives in a world in which eggs and pastries are counted in dozens, time is measured in sixtieths and their submultiples and an indeterminable number of linguistic expressions refer us to numeral universes that are inferior or different to those based on tens. This article will put forward some considerations on what is decidedly a broad and complex issue that transcends the lexical dimension. L'apprendimento dei più diffusi sistemi di numerazione procede di solito per decine: per un bambino contare fino a dieci è un primo, importante momento di condivisione di una conoscenza numerale "ordinaria". Ma quello stesso bambino vive in un mondo in cui le uova e i dolci si contano e dozzine, il tempo si misura a sessagesimi e loro sottomultipli, e un numero indeterminabile di espressioni linguistiche rimanda a universi numerali inferiori o diversi da quello basato sulla decina. In questo articolo si propongono alcune considerazioni sulla questione, che è decisamente ampia e complessa e che trascende la dimensione lessicale. Însuşirea sistemelor de numărare de o considerabilă diferenţă conduce în mod constant la această constatare: pentru un copil, actul de a număra până la zece reprezintă un prim moment, anume unul important în ordinea dobândirii unei cunoaşteri primare a numărului. Acelaşi copil însă trăieşte într-o lume în care ouăle şi dulciurile sunt numărate în unităţi raportabile la zece, timpul se măsoară în unităţi raportabile la şaizeci, iar submultiplii acestora sunt numere indeterminabile de expresie lingvistică, cu referire la universul numeral, un număr similar sau diferit de cel bazat pe raportarea la zece.
