| Sumario: | The "Nueva Canción" movement of Latin America emerged and became stronger and stronger during the '60s and '70s of the twentieth century. It was a cultural manifestation based on the ideology of a revolutionary spirit, the rescue of the Latin American musical heritage, a struggle against imperialism and anti-colonialism. All these ideological aspects of the "Nueva Canción" brought about the debates on the names, nicknames and epithets that characterized this musical movement. Our paper was developed based on an analysis of the various names and definitions that these songs were given as promoters of this social message. El movimiento de la Nueva Canción Latinoamericana, emergió y se fue consolidando durante los sesenta y setenta del siglo XX; fue una manifestación cultural confi gurada sobre la base de una ideología caracterizada por el espíritu revolucionario, el rescate del acervo musical latinoamericano, la lucha antiimperialista y el anticolonialismo. Todos esos aspectos ideológicos de la Nueva Canción, permitieron el debate acerca de las denominaciones, motes y califi cativos con los que fue identifi cado este movimiento musical. Nuestro artículo, ha sido elaborado en torno al análisis de los diversos nombres y defi niciones que recibió la canción como promotora de un mensaje social. |
