| Sumario: | The article discusses a study suggesting that Isidore Ducasse may not have been successful in breaking the spell of the Byronic elements he introduced into his writing. It points out that English poet George Gordon Byron's influence on modern, occidental culture is undeniable and that it is Ducasse who was able to embody the ambiguous extremes of Byron's phenomena in modern readership. It suggests that Byron's presence in Ducasse's work is in the form of a consciously manipulated archi-texte. |
