| Summary: | In this article analyses the Parish Records of Concepción del Uruguay Village (1783-1820) using them as a source to identify the vast diversity of ethnicities that inhabited the lower section of Uruguay river. We try to identify where were these natives from, furthermore if the native migrants, vastly guaranies, we shall recognise, from an analysing their anthroponym’s, the Charrua, minuana/güenoa or chaná presence. This team applied an interdisciplinary approach between history and linguistics, suggesting hypothesis about the possible origin non-guaraní (presumably Charrua) of some of the family names found. |
