| Sumario: | The article analyzes how health education developed in the Central Zone of Ecuador in the 1940’s and 1950’s, when the Department of Health Education had an important boost. Thus, in the first part, the text presents the formation of this agency and the activities it carried out using conferences, films and pamphlets; and, in a second section, it addresses the health education for venereal diseases, and examines the pamphlets produced on syphilis as an example of how medical knowledge was transmitted to people. |
