Description
Summary:This article explores subjectivity in historiography. It analyzes how decisions made by historians influence the representation of the past. Based on a critical review, it proposes that the historian’s subjectivity, rather than an obstacle to historical knowledge, is a tool that enriches our understanding of the past and the discipline itself. Thus, the paper calls for a self-reflective and engaged historiography that recognizes the human dimension of the historiographic act, particularly when facing traumatic events and marginalized experiences.
