| Sumario: | This article will discuss how Problem Orientated Learning (POL) can be adapted to assess the learning abilities of each trainee, the prevention and recognition of inert knowledge and the need for self directed learning. Students in nursing show a very inhomogenous group concerning competences of their learning and self-directed learning strategies. There are difficulties with self-control strategies in supervising self directed learning, problems in takeover the responsibility for the learning process within the group and dealing with issues that arise from badly structured situations. In order for POL to work effectively these points must be addressed. |
