| Sumario: | This article documents the development of a free-to-access online social work in disasters continuing professional development (CPD) training course in England. The training is contextualized within adult learning theory and existing literature on social work training in disasters, as well as the contemporary CPD context in England. A small-scale pilot study of the training is also analyzed. The pilot found that the training course was overwhelmingly positively received, including in relation to self-reported increased confidence and knowledge of participants. However, the pilot also found the heavy workloads and a lack of time that are common in contemporary social work practice are likely to hinder the potential for many social workers to engage with and complete the training course.
