| Sumario: | This study aimed to find out the effect of a training program, based on PISA practice tests, in developing ninth grade students’ mental math in Jenin district schools. A quasi- experimental approach was used, on a purposive sample, consisted of 20 ninth grade students. The sample was divided into two groups: the control group consisting of 10 students, was taught using traditional teaching method, and the experimental group consisting of 10 students, was trained on PISA-based training program. Mental Math Test was used, and its validity and reliability were verified. The study result showed statistically significant differences at significance level (α= 0.05) between the average grades of the control and experimental groups in the mental math test in favor of the experimental group. The study recommends using PISA practice tests as a way to develop students’ mental math, also encourage math curricula designers in Palestine to introduce activities with realistic contexts to develop student's mental mathematics.
