| Sumario: | This article aims to examine some of the research and theory in the field of instructional research. There have been numerous attempts to inspire educators to implement individualized instruction. However, there have been few systematic attempts to adapt the method of instruction to student characteristics. Research related to adapting instructional treatments to individual differences among student aptitudes has been called aptitude treatment interaction. Aptitude has been defined as any characteristic of the individual that increases his probability of success in a given treatment. Thus, measures of intelligence and of similar cognitive variables were designed to predict the outcomes of instruction.
