Some argued that the genius of the original text must be preserved at all costs, even at the expense of the translation's fluency, while others challenged the concept of "untranslatability" and questioned the notion of translation difficulty based solely on literary genre or language. Literature written in the fantastic mode contains an extra layer of interpretation, the complexity of which depends on how strongly the fantastic is culturally embedded.
