Sumario:The article highlights some aspects of social class differences in achievements among thirteen-year-olds. A hypothesis on the effect of class size on academic achievement among non-academic students is examined. Socialization theory highlights that the student is in a position of transition between his social class of origin, that of his family and his social class to be, in later life, and that the school performs a significant function in changing the socialization of the children to allow a real transition between classes. A theory of socio-linguistic socialization of children also emphasizes the socialization of children based on social class relevant to differences in language.
