Summary:The article focuses on the nature of teacher-student-materials interactions in classrooms with the use of the Australian Science Education Project (ASEP) materials. Included in the assessment is the changes in student achievements and attitudes toward science in classes. It is intended to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching activities in science classes using ASEP materials. These materials are designed to allow pupils to work in teams. The study indicates that the patterns of interaction in classes using ASEP materials differs from the science classrooms where more conventional programs are used.
