ab: The article presents a study which determines the effect of a televised science in-service program on teachers' attitudes toward teaching science, with particular emphasis to some relevant teacher characteristics. The study's subjects were all 138 science teachers in the elementary (K-6) schools of Dubuque, Iowa. All of whom were attending in-service training required of all elementary teachers in the district. Results of the study suggest that teachers with certain entering characteristics respond differentially to a televised in-service program as evaluated by changes in teacher attitudes toward teaching elementary science.
