| Sumario: | Web 2.0 fostered the online mobility (Cruz & Melo, 2004) of European citizens. At the same time, by offering a wide range of multimedia resources, the IWB, combined with Web 2.0 tools and videoconferencing facilities, offers young learners the possibility to engage in virtual encounters, which promote both their intercultural communicative (Byram, 1997) and plurilingual competences (Araújo e Sá, M. H. & Melo, S., 2004). In this way, the main aim of this paper is to analyze the use of IWB and a videoconference tool in the early teaching of English as foreign language to develop the intercultural communicative competence of young learners. Therefore, we will present teaching and learning situations which involve the the management of the different components of this competence.
