ab: The aim of a truly personal and profitable service in mass-market industries has been largely elusive, but software companies believe that a solution has been found in the development of systems to automate customer relationship management (CRM). The market for CRM has been more immune to the dotcom fallout than other sectors of the software business, but the technology itself has largely failed to live up to its initial promise because of the limited extent of its benefits. However, a company called Data Distilleries has come up with effective software that can flash up sales ideas in shorter periods of time. Although not the only company in this market, Data Distilleries has the advantage of an alliance with global consulting group Accenture, which puts them in touch with its clients.
