| Sumario: | A study was conducted to explore the potential moderating effect of labor relations climate on the union participation process. Findings revealed that labor relations climate moderates the key relationships between union commitment and job satisfaction, perceived union instrumentality and union commitment, socialization and union commitment, and union participation and job satisfaction. The moderating influence of labor relations climate was not supported, however, for the relationship between union commitment and union participation. It is concluded that the theory on union member participation should be changed to reflect the recent emergence of less adversarial union-management relationships.
