Fluorescent Ratiometric MFC Probe Sensitive to Early Stages of α-Synuclein Aggregation.

The article focuses on the sensor molecules consisting of covalent adducts of Ala-to-Cys mutants of the 140aa protein a-synuclein (AS) with thiol-reactive (maleimide) probe (MFC) based on 2-(2-furyl)-3-hydroxychromones (FC). It says that AS140-MFC is sensitive to the early and intermediate stages of...

Sumario:The article focuses on the sensor molecules consisting of covalent adducts of Ala-to-Cys mutants of the 140aa protein a-synuclein (AS) with thiol-reactive (maleimide) probe (MFC) based on 2-(2-furyl)-3-hydroxychromones (FC). It says that AS140-MFC is sensitive to the early and intermediate stages of the overall reaction. Meanwhile, the inherently continuous nature of the aggregation assay of MFC probe provides more detailed multiparameter data than thioflavin T (THT)-based sampling protocols.
