| Sumario: | The article focuses on the investigation on the effects of an inservice science education program on the philosophical views of the teachers towards science and environmental science education in Austin, Texas. The information for this study were gathered as part of an evaluation of a National Science Foundation with funding's from Pre-College Teacher Development in Science Program. The acquisition of sizable numbers of inservice teachers for research purposes was difficult to obtain. The major objectives of the program is first, the necessity for the improvement of the environmental science content knowledge of elementary and middle school teachers and second, the assistance provided to teachers in the determination and use of environmental science education resources.
